American Psychosis - 2022
David Corn
This book is a recap of the ‘modern’ history of the Republican party, and where the party ran into the ditch. I have lived through most of this history and learned some very interesting behind-the-scenes information about people and events connected with Republicans. Most of it is pretty shocking.

Bring the War Home – 2018
Kathleen Belew
Again, this book could be used as a textbook for a class about the true history of hate groups in the history of the United States, and how they interacted with various political organizations, almost all of which are Republican leaning. Shocking indeed.
-----
Last Best Hope – American in Crisis and Renewal - 2021
George Packer
A critique of society in the United States. If you want to read an introspective history of the society in which we live, this is the book for you. And, if we do not understand and acknowledge our society, how will we improve it?

They Want To Kill Americans – 2022
Malcolm Nance
This man is one of my favorite authors, public speakers and authorities on the intelligence community for the entire world. He is a retired United States Navy Senior Chief, and worked in the intelligence community. So who do you think wants to kill Americans? You might be shocked to find out.
-----
Holding the Line – 2022
Geoffrey Berman
This man is the former United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, and he has a few facts and opinions to give about the events concerning former Attorney General Bill Barr and 45.

On Tyranny – Twenty Lessons From The Twentieth Century – 2017 & 2021
Timothy Snyder with illustrations by Nora King
This looks and reads like a children’s book. Until you really read it. Once you do that, you will realize that this is a book for adults about how to live in a democracy, which requires work and effort. Put this book at the top of your reading list. You will be happy you did.
-----
Betrayal – 2021
Jonathan Karl
A book by the Chief Washington correspondent for ABC News. In this book the author weaves a tapestry of the intrigue, lies and deceitful committed by ‘45’ and his hand-chosen group of unindicted co-conspirators. I hope they all go to jail.
-----
I Alone Can Fix It – 2021
Carol Leonnig & Philip Rucker
This tells the story of the final year of the administration of ‘45’ (I refuse to use his name). This is a gripping nightmare scenario that we all lived through. If you voted for this asshole, then you got duped. If you would vote for him again or vote for him now, you are, IMHO, a goddamned idiot.
-----
Bottle of Lies – 2019
Katherine Eban
I used to think that generic drugs were a fantastic alternative to expensive name brand drugs. I now avoid them at all costs, in every instance I can. The information and scenario painted in this book is truly disgusting and outrageous.
-----
Nightmare Scenario – 2021
Yasmeen Abutaleb & Damian Paletta
You think ‘45’ and his administration handled the Corona virus pandemic in a professional manner with your best interests in mind? Wrong!! Read this book for a comprehensive deep look inside. You might be disgusted, as I was.
-----
Peril – 2021
Bob Woodward & Robert Costa
Another inside look at the administration of ‘45’. I don’t have a lot of use for these authors for withholding information from Congressional committees, and then divulging that same info in a book. Having that information first hand might have help impeach this egomaniacal asshole (IMHO). But read the book anyway. Good info, that can help some people make smarter decisions in the future.
-----
Midnight in Washington – 2021
Adam Schiff
Yeah, that Adam Schiff, the one who wants to be the next Senator from California. Congressman Schiff is a very, very smart man, and used to be a federal prosecutor here in SoCal. He goes into great detail how ‘45’ tried to steal the election of 2020, like he did in 2016. It makes me shudder to this that there are people here in these United States that would actually vote for ‘45’ again. Shocking and disgusting at the same time. Another good book to read.
-----
Drunk – 2021
Edward Slingerland
Hmmmm, this is a subject that I have never even thought about: the history of alcohol across the generations and within different societies. I myself have only gotten slightly buzzed maybe once, and I didn’t even enjoy that (cough, cough).
This is a very entertaining book, with lots information that I was never even slightly aware of.
So, pour yourself a glass of wine, open a beer or have a gin and tonic and enjoy this book.
Skol!
-----
Disloyal – 2020
Michael Cohen
I like the guy, but I don’t like the guy. He was 45’s right-hand flunky, up until 45 decided to discard him. Then Cohen turned on him and may yet see his former boss go to jail. That is my sincerest hope, cause 45 no doubt is a crook and a traitor, IMHO. Very interesting book, plus I paid $5.00 extra and got an autographed copy. It’s going right on the shelf alongside my other treasured mementos.
-----
Madame Restell – 2022
Jennifer Wright
I am still reading this book.
Why is it that over 150 years after the life of this woman, Madame Restell, that women are still fighting for their rights? I find this preposterous and shameful. Why should any woman have to justify her personal medical decisions to anyone, let alone a man? I find this absurd. Please, read this book. The dichotomy of the struggle by women to attain parity with men is breathtaking.

The Great Cholesterol Myth – Revised and Expanded – 2020
Johnny Bowden, PH.D., CNS & Stephen Sinatra, MD, FACC
This book is just as incredible as the first edition. When I read this the first time, I was just blown away by the knowledge I gained. This is not a book that you read once, put on a shelf and then forget about. No, this is a book that you keep within easy reach so that you can make life decisions with it. Do you know how much cholesterol your body is supposed to have? Where does cholesterol come from? What are statins? How do they work? Who should, and more importantly should not, take them? What is fat? Should you eat fatty foods, or not? So many questions, and I promise you that most of your answers are probably wrong. Buy it. Keep it. Use it.
